Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Associate #107928

I come to the world of psychotherapy following a decade-long career as a professional birth doula (similar to midwife). Holding others through intense life experiences has always seemed to draw me, and providing therapy has felt like an organic and richly rewarding progression of my work in the world.
I received my graduate degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. That same year I became a mother, and the life experience I thought I had was multiplied exponentially.
In many ways, the helping professions are all I have ever known. Some of my most cherished memories include constructing homes in Guatemala following rural landslides, bringing books and dialysis machines to Ghana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, and working the olive and chestnut harvests in Italy. I have extensive experience working with children as an elementary school teacher in the field of nutrition and garden education. As a childbirth educator and doula I attended over 200 live births, and worked with as many couples and their families in the process.
I am passionate about consciousness research, and together with a small team ran the Therapist Training Program at MAPS. I am a volunteer with MAPS' Zendo Project, which provides a supportive environment and education to help transform difficult psychedelic and psychological experiences into opportunities for learning and growth.
I have offices in Sacramento and Davis, CA, and regularly lead groups, workshops and other events in the area. My next upcoming series “Home At Last: Calling In the Disowned Parts of Ourselves” begins March 24, 2019 at Delta Mind Body Center in Sacramento. Learn more here.
